PLK1 is a serine/threonine kinase with a central role in cell division, or the mitotic phase of the cell cycle, and is a regulator of the DNA damage checkpoint. The Company’s plogo is a novel, small-molecule, selective and potent PLK1 inhibitor, which has demonstrated potent and selective target inhibition (PLK1 IC50 approximately 3 nM) and efficacy in human tumor xenografts at non-toxic doses. Its translational biology program supports the development of plogo in solid tumor and hematological malignancy indications. PLK1 over-expressing tumors include colorectal, esophageal, gastric, leukemia, lung, lymphoma, ovarian and squamous cell cancers.
