
April 9 (Reuters) - U.S. stock indexes moved higher in afternoon trading on Wednesday after an auction of 10-year Treasury notes came within market expectations, leading yields to retreat across the board.
The yield on the benchmark 10-year note US10YT=RR was last at 4.4191%.
At 01:07 p.m. the Dow Jones Industrial Average .DJI rose 370.39 points, or 1.02%, to 38,015.98, the S&P 500 .SPX gained 62.74 points, or 1.26%, to 5,045.51 and the Nasdaq Composite .IXIC gained 336.96 points, or 2.21%, to 15,604.87.
Declining issues outnumbered advancers by a 1.1-to-1 ratio on the NYSE and by a 1.01-to-1 ratio on the Nasdaq.
The S&P 500 posted no new 52-week highs and 100 new lows while the Nasdaq Composite recorded four new highs and 632 new lows.
