Sheinbaum says Mexico secures new tariff reprieve, 90 days to strike trade deal

MEXICO CITY, July 31 (Reuters) - Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said on Thursday that in a phone call with U.S. President Donald Trump she secured a pause on new tariffs coming into effect and a 90 day period to work on a trade deal.

"We avoided the tariff increase announced for tomorrow," Sheinbaum wrote in a post on X where she said the call was "very good."
