Jeff Shell out as Paramount president, Deadline reports
April 8 (Reuters) - Jeff Shell is out as president of Paramount Skydance PSKY.O, Deadline reported on Wednesday.
Vegas gambler and FBI informant R.J. Cipriani had accused him of breaking a promise to develop a music show and sued him for $150 million. Last month, Shell had filed a countersuit against Cipriani alleging extortion and defamation, the Los Angeles Times reported.
Shell was fired in April 2023 as chief executive of NBCUniversal amid allegations of inappropriate conduct with a female CNBC reporter, according to Deadline.
His removal from Paramount comes after weeks of legal wrangling following allegations of indiscretion, Deadline said.
Previously, law firm Gibson Dunn appeared to have cleared Shell of Cipriani's claim that the executive had leaked confidential and potentially explosive information, according to the report.
Shell became president overseeing day-to-day operations when Paramount Global completed its merger with Skydance Media last year.
Paramount did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment.
