ISLAMABAD, March 10 (Reuters) - Pakistan sold a total of 480 MHz of 5G telecom spectrum for $507 million on Tuesday, the country's telecom authority chairman announced after a live auction.
The winners include Jazz, Ufone and Zong, said Hafeez-ur-Rehman, who is also a retired Pakistani military general.
"Out of a total of 595 MHz, God be praised, 480 MHz was sold today," he said in comments broadcast live on state-run PTV.
Zong bought 110 MHz of spectrum, Ufone 180 MHz and Jazz 190 MHz, he said.
Information Technology Minister Shiza Fatima said all major Pakistani cities will have access to 5G by the end of this year.
