March 4 (Reuters) - U.S. Interior Secretary Doug Burgum has arrived in Venezuela, the United States diplomatic mission in that country said on Wednesday, ahead of an expected meeting with acting President Delcy Rodriguez.
Burgum, who also heads the U.S. Energy Dominance Council, which is meant to boost U.S. energy production, landed at the international airport near Caracas. The Venezuela Affairs Unit said in a post on X he will meet with officials, businesses from the U.S. and Venezuela and work on supply chains for critical minerals.
His visit is the second by a U.S. cabinet secretary since the ouster of President Nicolas Maduro in a U.S. operation in January.
