- (The Insurer) - Howden's divisional director for North American commercial property Ben Jordan has resigned to join BMS, multiple market sources told The Insurer.

Based in London, Jordan assumed the role of divisional director in June 2021, with a focus on North American commercial property placements across natural catastrophe and commercial agriculture.

He joined Howden in 2019 as director of risk management following its merger with RKH Specialty.

Howden and BMS declined to comment. Jordan did not respond to a request for comment.

Independent (re)insurance intermediary BMS has been strengthening its London office since the appointment of Richard Dudley as group chief broking officer in September last year.

The former Aon executive is responsible for supporting the continued build-out of the group's London and Bermuda reinsurance platform, including the expansion of the London specialty business under the leadership of Ian Gormley.

Since Dudley's arrival, BMS has bolstered its London-based upstream energy team with two divisional directors from Howden, Toby Hanington and Jack Palmer.

On the reinsurance side, in February BMS confirmed the appointment of Genna Biddell as head of London P&C at BMS Re. Biddell joined from Howden Re, where she served as managing director of the North America wholesale property treaty team.

Later that month, BMS Re also added Howden Re duo Jonathan Hughes and Martin Bartell to its London non-marine team.
