June 4 - (The Insurer) - The Association of British Insurers (ABI) has appointed Chris Bose as director of general insurance and international, the industry body said on Wednesday.
The appointment is effective from August 11.
Bose will join the ABI from the Nationwide Building Society, where he led the policy and public affairs division. He also served as interim director of corporate affairs.
In his new role, Bose will be responsible for strategically delivering on priority issues for ABI members around climate change, cybersecurity and motor reform.
"Providing protection and peace of mind for people across the UK, insurance is a crucial element of our society and economy. I look forward to working with the industry, government and ABI colleagues to champion the excellent work the industry does and deliver for members," Bose said.
In April, Kay Swinburne was appointed independent chair of the ABI, succeeding Nicky Morgan, who was the first person to hold the role following its creation in 2021.
