US Homeland Security department offers buyouts to workers
April 7 (Reuters) - U.S. Department of Homeland Security employees were asked late on Monday to consider voluntarily resigning, retiring or taking a buyout of as much as $25,000 as part of a new voluntary workforce transition program, an internal email showed.
The workers have until midnight on April 14 to opt for one of three options, according to the email. Law enforcement staff were exempted from the program.
