The Canadian dollar weakened against the greenback on Monday, and the yield on benchmark government debt slipped.
The loonie CAD= was trading 0.4% lower at C$1.4377 to the greenback, or 69.56 U.S. cents, after trading in a range of 1.43 to 1.438.
Canadian government 10-year bond yields CA10YT=RR fell 3.8 basis points to 2.979%. The yield on similar U.S. government benchmark debt fell to 4.2091%.
U.S. May crude CLc1 futures rose 40 cents to $69.76 a barrel on Monday.
