Europe Gasoline/Naphtha-Gasoline refining margins rise further

ReutersFeb 5, 2026 6:04 PM

- Northwest European gasoline refinery profit margins rose on Thursday by $1.45 to about $8.73 a barrel amid a selloff in underlying crude prices.

  • About 13,250 metric tons of Eurobob E10 gasoline traded on barges in the Argus window, with Phillips 66, Sahara, and Shell selling to Varo, Van Raak, BP, Trafigura and TotalEnergies.

  • Another 10,000 tons of E5 gasoline barges traded on Argus, with BP and Exxon Mobil selling to Varo, MB Energy, and TotalEnergies.

  • Trafigura bought three Eurobob E5 barges from BP in the Platts window.

  • Gasoline stocks held independently in the Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp (ARA) refining and storage hub rose by 5.8% on the week, data from Dutch consultancy Insights Global showed on Thursday.

  • Stocks of the motor fuel stood at 1.36 million metric tons and rose due to loading delays at various terminals and an increase in imports from other European locations, Insights Global's Lars van Wageningen said. He added that inland demand fell on the week.

  • U.S. gasoline stocks USOILG=ECI rose by 685,000 barrels last week to 257.9 million barrels, the highest since June 2020, Energy Information Administration data showed. That compared with analysts' expectations in a Reuters poll for a 1.4 million-barrel build.

  • Spanish oil storage infrastructure company Exolum said on Thursday delivered 3.4 million cubic metres of oil products to the Spanish market in January, roughly unchanged year‑on‑year.

  • Gasoline deliveries rose 7.2% while diesel outflows fell 5.5%, bringing total motor fuel deliveries to 2.2 million cubic metres, down 2.9% from January 2025, Exolum said.
