Germany backs US push to cut China mineral dependency

FRANKFURT, Feb 5 (Reuters) - Germany's government shares the United States' analysis on the need to diversify global supply chains for critical raw materials and reduce dependencies, particularly on China, the economy ministry said on Thursday.
"We are, in principle, prepared to engage in discussions on this matter," the ministry added in a statement, a day after Washington unveiled plans to marshal allies into a preferential trade bloc for critical minerals.
