US Cash Grains-Soy bids flat-lower, farmers not focused on sales

CHICAGO, June 5 (Reuters) - Spot soybean basis bids were flat to lower in the U.S. Midwest on Thursday, while corn bids stayed mostly unchanged, spot checks showed.

• The soybean basis eased at a port terminal in Toledo, Ohio, and at a crush plant in Sioux City, Iowa.

• Farmers were focused on their recently planted soy and corn crops, not on making sales to grain elevators and processors, dealers said.

• Farmers were also hoping for a resolution to Washington's trade dispute with China before U.S. export demand ramps up around harvest time in the autumn.

• Chicago Board of Trade soybean futures climbed to a one-week high on optimism about the U.S. trade relationship with China, the world's largest soybean buyer, after leaders of the two countries spoke by phone. GRA/
