CHICAGO, June 5 (Reuters) - Spot soybean basis bids were flat to lower in the U.S. Midwest on Thursday, while corn bids stayed mostly unchanged, spot checks showed.
The soybean basis eased at a port terminal in Toledo, Ohio, and at a crush plant in Sioux City, Iowa.
Farmers were focused on their recently planted soy and corn crops, not on making sales to grain elevators and processors, dealers said.
Farmers were also hoping for a resolution to Washington's trade dispute with China before U.S. export demand ramps up around harvest time in the autumn.
Chicago Board of Trade soybean futures climbed to a one-week high on optimism about the U.S. trade relationship with China, the world's largest soybean buyer, after leaders of the two countries spoke by phone. GRA/
