The White House is inviting Tesla's Elon Musk and Apple's Tim Cook to accompany President Donald Trump on his trip to China this week, according to a White House official
The group of more than a dozen top executives is joining Trump for the visit including Meta's Dina Powell McCormick, Blackrock's Larry Fink, Blackstone's Stephen Schwarzman
"I think Tesla shares are up as the market reacts to Elon Musk accompanying President Trump in his visit to China as Tesla could end up with a favorable deal from either the US or Chinese governments," says Seth Goldstein, senior equity analyst at Morningstar
China said Trump will make a state visit from May 13 to 15, according to the Xinhua official news agency
Up to last close, TSLA was down about 2% YTD
