SSR Mining gains after deal to sell 80% stake in Copler mine for $1.5 bln

U.S.-listed shares of precious metal miner SSR Mining SSRM.TO, SSRM.O up 7.2% at $31.02 premarket

SSRM says it has agreed to sell its 80% stake in Turkey's Copler mine to Cengiz Holding A.S. for $1.5 billion in cash

Says the deal excludes SSRM's interest in the Hod Maden development project

It adds either party may terminate the memorandum of understanding at any time upon notice, subject to a $50 million termination fee

Transaction expected to close by Q3 2026

"We are also conducting a strategic review of our remaining platform in Turkey, including our 20% earned interest in the Hod Maden development project" - SSRM
