EUROPE BEFORE THE BELL: TRUMP DOES IT AGAIN

European shares could come under pressure on Friday with pharmaceutical companies hit hard after U.S. President Donald Trump unveiled a fresh round of tariffs and as traders pared back bets for sharp U.S. rate cuts following stronger-than-expected economic data.

Trump announced the U.S. would impose 100% duties on imported branded drugs, 25% tariffs on heavy-duty trucks and 50% tariffs on kitchen cabinets.

Shares in Europe's biggest pharma companies fell in early trading. Shares in Novo Nordisk NOVOb.CO, Roche ROGS.S, Novartis NOVN.S and Astrazeneca AZN.L were down between 1.8% and 2% on the Tradegate platform.

Traders also predicted shares in Daimler Truck DTGGe.DE would come under pressure after Trump's tariff announcement on trucks.

European futures are however trading higher, with EUROSTOXX 50 futures STXEc1 up 0.4% while FTSE futures FFIc1 are up 0.3%.

Markets will also be focused on U.S. PCE data due later in the day.
