Aug 5 (Reuters) - Canada's main stock index rose on Tuesday, recovering some ground after Friday's selloff, with investors optimistic of the U.S. Federal Reserve cutting interest rates in September.
At 9:31 a.m. ET (1331 GMT), the Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE rose 1.6% to 27,444.81 points, with markets resuming trading after Civic Day's holiday.
