
ANKARA, July 16 (Reuters) - Here are news, reports and events that may affect Turkish financial markets on Wednesday.
The lira TRYTOM=D3 was quoted at 40.2550-40.2600 against the U.S. dollar at 0400 GMT, after closing at 40.2330 on Tuesday.
The main BIST 100 share index .XU100 closed 1.28% lower at 10,225.48 points on Monday.
GLOBAL MARKETS
Asian stock markets were under pressure on Wednesday while the dollar climbed to its firmest against the yen since early April, after U.S. inflation suggested tariffs are pushing prices up, dampening expectations for Federal Reserve policy easing.
ERDOGAN
President Tayyip Erdogan and UAE President Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan will chair Turkey-UAE high level strategic cooperation council in Ankara (1200 GMT).
VICE PRESIDENT
Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz will attend an event on the anniversary of 2016 coup attempt in Ankara (0630 GMT).
FOREIGN MINISTER
Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan will attend the informal meeting on Cyprus in New York.
TRADE MINISTER
Trade Minister Omer Bolat will meet Georgia's President Mikheil Kavelashvili and will attend Turkey-Georgia business forum in Tbilisi.
OPPOSITION
Main opposition CHP leader Ozgur Ozel will attend a hearing of jailed Istanbul Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu in Istanbul (0700 GMT), and then will attend his party's rally in Istanbul's Kartal district (1730 GMT).
Opposition New Path Party (0630 GMT) and IYI Party (0730 GMT) will hold their weekly parliamentary meetings.
BUDGET BALANCE
The Ministry of Treasury and Finance will publish the June budget balance data (0800 GMT).
