
May 7 (Reuters) - Canada's main stock index opened higher on Wednesday as hopes of a de-escalation in the U.S.-China trade war firmed, while investors awaited the Federal Reserve's interest rate decision later in the day.
At 9:31 a.m. ET (1331 GMT), the Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE was up 0.1% at 24,999.34 points.
