
Shares in Umicore UMI.BR rise 3% after the Belgian metals recycling group said it expects limited direct impact from US tariffs and confirmed its 2025 outlook
"Umicore expects to offset the vast majority of the direct impact thanks to the set-up of its customer contracts and by leveraging its flexible global footprint and supply chain," the group said in a statement
It confirmed its full-year adjusted EBITDA target of EUR 720 million to 780 million
Degroof Petercam analysts point to a "comforting update, which underlines the solidness of the group's foundation businesses," but flags uncertainties remain on the Battery materials unit, which is guided to be around breakeven in 2025
"We expect a positive share price reaction today as the fear for a warning on 2025 is reduced for now," the broker says
