The Indian rupee INR=IN rose 0.28% versus the U.S. dollar to 85.7925, aided by strong interbank dollar sales, likely inflows into local stocks and a broadly weaker greenback after traders returned from a holiday-extended weekend. INR/
GOVERNMENT BONDS:
The benchmark 10-year bond IN067934G=CC was quoted at 102.64 rupees, with the yield down 3 bps at 6.4135%, led by short-end gains after the Reserve Bank of India announced yet another liquidity injection. IN/
OVERNIGHT INDEX SWAPS:
The one-year overnight index swap rate INR1YMIBROIS=CC was down nearly 3 basis points to 5.75%, while the five-year swap rate INR5YMIBROIS=CC was flat at 5.69%.
