
April 9 (Reuters) - Wall Street's main indexes turned sharply higher on Wednesday after U.S. President Donald Trump said he would pause many of his new tariffs for 90 days.
At 01:26 p.m. the Dow Jones Industrial Average .DJI rose 2,169.93 points, or 5.76%, to 39,801.82, the S&P 500 .SPX gained 321.89 points, or 6.46%, to 5,304.66, and the Nasdaq Composite .IXIC gained 1,229.20 points, or 8.04%, to 16,497.11.
