Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Construction, Banking and Travel sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite added 0.63% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Aegean Airlines (AT:AGNr), which rose 3.77% or 0.40 points to trade at 11.00 at the close. J.&P. Avax (AT:AVAr) added 3.63% or 0.05 points to end at 1.54 and Kri-Kri Milk (AT:KRIr) was up 3.08% or 0.40 points to 13.40 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Crete Plastics SA (AT:PLAKR), which lost 6.58% or 1.00 points to trade at 14.20 in late trade. Dimand Societe Anonyme for Real Estate Constructions (AT:DIMANDr) declined 2.12% or 0.20 points to end at 9.25 and Optima bank SA (AT:OPTIMAr) shed 1.53% or 0.20 points to 12.90.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 75 to 45 and 28 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.16% or 4.30 to $2,689.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 2.38% or 1.66 to hit $68.03 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 2.15% or 1.57 to trade at $71.33 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.31% to 1.12, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.24% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.27% at 100.36.
