March 26 (Reuters) - The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services have named members of a new healthcare advisory committee that will provide expert advice on modernizing U.S. healthcare.
The committee will advise Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and CMS Administrator Dr. Mehmet Oz on ways to improve how care is financed and delivered across Medicare, Medicaid, the Children's Health Insurance Program and the Health Insurance Marketplace.
Committee members include 15 appointed members and two ex officio members from within the administration, following a nomination process that CMS announced in August 2025.
The committee includes prominent author and motivational speaker Tony Robbins, Cleveland Clinic finance chief Dennis Laraway, and Clive Fields, co-founder of VillageMD.
CMS said the committee will focus on preventing and better managing chronic disease, speeding claims processing and improving care for vulnerable populations.
The committee will convene its first meeting later this year.
