March 24 (Reuters) - The senior official at the Transportation Security Administration will tell Congress on Wednesday that an ongoing funding standoff that has forced 50,000 airport screeners to go without pay is "raising major security risks."
Ha McNeill will tell a U.S. House committee that 460 TSA officers have quit since the start of the current funding dispute after 1,110 quit during the 2025 shutdown.
Absences have spiked to more than 10% in recent days, which is "increasing wait times to over four and half hours at certain airports, raising major security risks and missed flights for passengers," her written testimony says.
