BUCHAREST, March 20 (Reuters) - Romania has signed a joint statement by leading European nations, Japan and Canada saying they would join "appropriate efforts" to ensure safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz and stabilise energy markets, President Nicusor Dan said on Friday.
"We are ready to participate in the efforts of the international community that will lead to maintaining prices at a bearable level for the population," Dan said.
"Romania maintains its clear decision not to get involved in the conflict in the Middle East and we work alongside international partners for de-escalation."
