March 18 (Reuters) - CoverGirl parent Coty COTY.N said on Wednesday it has appointed five new directors, as it seeks to strengthen its board with expertise in beauty, brand-building, digital commerce and finance.
Here are a few key details:
The new directors are Carsten Fischer, Alia Gogi, Robert Kunze-Concewitz, Maria Carla Liuni, and Stephanie Plaines, who have held leadership roles at Shiseido, Procter & Gamble, Ferrari, Bulgari, Pandora, Campari Group, Starbucks, Walmart and Sephora.
Robert Singer will step down from the company's board, effective June 30. Beatrice Ballini, Isabelle Parize and Anna Adeola Makanju have resigned from the board, effective immediately.
Last month, Coty's new interim CEO Markus Strobel launched a strategic focus on core brands and called for improved discipline and execution to turn around sluggish financial performance.
Shares of the company have fallen more than 31% so far this year, as Coty struggles to revive sales amid intensifying competition from newer beauty brands and larger rivals like L'Oreal OREP.PA.
