Poland intercepted Russian plane over Baltic, no violation of Polish airspace

WARSAW, March 16 (Reuters) - Polish jets intercepted a Russian reconnaissance aircraft flying over the Baltic Sea on Friday, the Polish army's operational command said on social media platform X on Monday.

"Polish fighter jets intercepted the Russian Il-20 aircraft conducting its ninth reconnaissance mission of the year in international airspace, without a filed flight plan and with its transponder turned off. The aircraft did not violate Polish airspace," it added.
