- The United States has reopened its Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) office in the Dominican Republic's capital, its embassy said on Thursday, a month after it closed over a corruption investigation involving a top agent.

The office was temporarily closed in mid-February when an agent at the Santo Domingo office was charged with running a visa fraud scheme. U.S. Ambassador Leah Campos said on X that investigations and internal audits were ongoing.
