LONDON, March 12 (Reuters) - Britain's energy regulator Ofgem said on Thursday it had approved an electricity supply licence for Tesla Energy Ventures Limited, a subsidiary of Tesla TSLA.O, allowing the company to provide power to households and businesses across Britain.
The authorisation took effect on Wednesday after a months-long assessment process.
Ofgem said the licence covers electricity supply activities only and is separate from an existing generation licence held by Tesla Motors Limited.
