- Private equity firm Warburg Pincus said on Monday it would invest up to $1 billion in Global Eggs, valuing the Brazilian entrepreneur Ricardo Faria-led group at $8 billion.

Allison Ross, a principal at Warburg Pincus, will join the board of directors of the egg supplier, the private equity firm said, adding it supports Faria's push to broaden the reach of the rapidly growing business in newer markets.

Founded in 2018, the Luxembourg-based firm produces and distributes a wide range of table eggs, including conventional, cage-free, free-range and specialty products, and is on track to produce over 15 billion eggs this year.

Last year, Global Eggs agreed to buy U.S. egg producer Hillandale Farms for $1.1 billion.

Warburg said the equity for the transaction is being provided by Warburg Pincus Capital Solutions Founders Fund .
