Venezuelan politician Perkins Rocha freed in prisoner release

Feb 8 (Reuters) - Venezuelan politician Perkins Rocha has been freed in a prisoner release, his wife said in statement on Sunday, the latest high profile liberation as families continue to anxiously await an unknown number of releases promised by the government and hailed by the United States.

Rights group Foro Penal said 11 political prisoners were released on Sunday and that it was verifying additional cases. The organization previously confirmed that 383 political prisoners had been let go since the Venezuelan government announced on January 8 that it would begin a new series of releases.
