Europe needs more tech independence from US, Germany's Merz says

FRANKFURT, Feb 2 (Reuters) - Europe must become more independent in technology vis-a-vis the United States as the region deals with changes in the nature of its relationship with the world's largest economy, Germany's Chancellor Friedrich Merz said on Monday.
"Transatlantic relations have changed. No one in this room regrets this more than I do," Merz told political and business leaders in Frankfurt.
