NEW YORK, Jan 30 (Reuters) - The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on Friday said it had appointed Demetrios Logothetis to lead the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board and tapped three new board members.
The SEC also named Mark Calabria, Kyle Hauptman, and Steven Laughton as Board members, a move that follows the ouster of the former head of the accounting watchdog, who had been named by Democratic leadership.
"I am confident that this new Board will usher in a new day at the PCAOB - one of sensible, efficient oversight of auditors," said SEC Chairman Paul Atkins in a statement.
Longtime PCAOB official George Botic will stay on in his role as Acting Chairman until Logothetis is sworn in, the SEC said.
