
SINGAPORE, Jan 27 (Reuters) - U.S. memory chipmaker Micron Technology MU.O plans to invest$24 billion to build a new NAND chip fabrication facility in Singapore, Deputy Prime Minister Gan Kim Yong said on Tuesday.
In his speech at the company's groundbreaking ceremony, Gan said the facility represents a major commitment to additional capacity and advanced capabilities.
Reuters reported earlier on Tuesday that Micron is set to announce new memory chip investment plan in Singapore.
