BERLIN, Jan 21 (Reuters) - German Chancellor Friedrich Merz will depart Switzerland early on Thursday and therefore will not attend a signing ceremony for U.S. President Donald Trump's "Board of Peace" at the World Economic Forum in Davos, said a German government spokesperson.
The U.S. side has been informed accordingly, said the spokesperson on Wednesday, and reiterated that Germany was grateful for receiving an invitation to join the board.
"We are examining this proposal and will certainly respond accordingly in due course," said the spokesperson.
