European solidarity and strong U.S. ties are both necessary, says Polish president

WARSAW, Jan 21 (Reuters) - It is necessary to have solidarity among European countries, but it is also necessary to have strong transtlantic relations as the United States is key to the security of eastern flank NATO states, the Polish president said on Wednesday.

"There is the necessity of solidarity in Europe, but there is also the necessity of building good transatlantic relations," Karol Nawrocki said during a panel discussion in Davos.
