MOSCOW, Jan 20 (Reuters) - The Kremlin regrets Moldova's decision to leave the Russia-led Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Tuesday.
Moldova's foreign minister said on Monday that the country was moving ahead with the formal steps required to complete its withdrawal from the bloc.
Peskov said that the decision did not come as a surprise to Moscow, noting that Moldova had effectively stopped participating in CIS activities some time ago.
