TOKYO, Jan 16 (Reuters) - The CEO of Prudential Financial's Japan life insurance branch will resign following revelations of misconduct by about 100 employees involving about 500 customers including embezzlement of funds, the Asahi newspaper reported on Friday.
The misconduct amounts to about 3.1 billion yen ($19.60 million), Asahi said, without citing its source.
CEO and President Kan Mabara is set to step down effective February 1, the paper said, adding that Japan's Financial Services Agency would make an announcement in the near future.
