Rubio stressed importance of democracy, elections in Venezuela in meeting with G7 ministers, Canada says

Jan 6 (Reuters) - U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio spoke to the foreign ministers of the Group of Seven countries during a meeting on Tuesday about the importance of freeing Venezuelan political prisoners and putting in place the conditions for democracy and planning for elections, Canada's Foreign Minister Anita Anand said in a statement.
"We agreed as a group to continue the dialogue about the importance of international law and other global conflicts," Anand said.
