German minister: protection of Greenland will be discussed within NATO if needed

LONDON, Jan 5 (Reuters) - German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul said on Monday that Greenland belonged to Denmark and that the NATO alliance could discuss strengthening its protection if necessary.
Wadephul was speaking after U.S. President Donald Trump made renewed threats to take over Greenland, setting the U.S. at odds with fellow NATO member Denmark.
