Jan 3 (Reuters) - Venezuela President Nicolas Maduro was removed from power after refusing a negotiated exit, opposition leader Maria Corina Machado said in a statement posted to X on Saturday morning.
Her opposition colleague Edmundo Gonzalez, who the opposition, the U.S. and international observers say won a 2024 election, should assume the presidency, Machado said, adding the opposition will restore order in the country and free political prisoners.
