
The Canadian dollar strengthened against the greenback on Tuesday, and the yield on benchmark government debt slipped.
The loonie CAD= was trading 0.4% higher at C$1.3698 to the greenback, or 73 U.S. cents, after trading in a range of 1.3689 to 1.3753.
Canadian government 10-year bond yields CA10YT=RR fell 1.8 basis points to 3.455%. The yield on similar U.S. government benchmark debt rose to 4.1863%.
U.S. February crude CLc1 futures rose 16 cents to $58.17 a barrel on Tuesday.
