TAIPEI, Nov 26 (Reuters) - Taiwan President Lai Ching-te will hold a news conference late on Wednesday morning after a high-level security meeting, the presidential office said.
Defence Minister Wellington Koo will give a presentation at the news conference, the office said.
Taiwan will introduce a $40 billion supplementary defence budget to underscore its determination to defend itself, with "significant" new U.S. arms purchases planned, Lai said in a Washington Post op-ed essay published on Tuesday.
