Oct 14 (Reuters) - Laurent Wauquiez, leader of the conservative Republicans in parliament, told lawmakers it was better to negotiate a budget than bet on another election in remarks that suggested his party would not vote to oust the government this week.
"It is necessary to give France a budget," he said, adding that delaying the approval of the law would further worsen the country's deficit.
Wauquiez was speaking after French Prime Minister Sebastien Lecornu presented to parliament his draft of the 2026 budget.
