BEIJING, Sept 26 (Reuters) - China's market regulator on Friday said it will strengthen regulatory supervision of the country's "booming" online food delivery industry and will promote a national management standard, according to a statement published on its website.
In a meeting held on Friday with some merchants and delivery riders, the market regulator said it will urge "rational competition" in the industry, the statement added.
China's food delivery market this year saw fierce competition marked by intense price war among major platforms including Meituan and Alibaba's Ele.me, prompting warnings from industry and authorities.
