WASHINGTON, Sept 24 (Reuters) - The White House budget office is instructing federal agencies to prepare reduction-in-force plans for mass firings during a possible U.S. government shutdown, Politico reported on Wednesday.
The Office of Management and Budget is set to send a memo to federal agencies on Wednesday night to prepare to permanently reduce government workforce if there is a shutdown, according to Politico.
The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
