US consumer agency warns staff of possible workforce cuts due to new congressional funding limits, email says
WASHINGTON, Sept 10 (Reuters) - The U.S. Consumer Financial Protection Bureau warned staff members on Wednesday the agency may soon need to eliminate a share of its workforce because of new funding limits imposed this year by Congress, according to an email reviewed by Reuters.
The CFPB, which President Donald Trump's administration is battling in court to reduce in size, asked staff members to be certain the agency had their most up-to-date resumes on file to ensure any reduction in force is properly handled, the email said.
