Sept 9 (Reuters) - YouTube said on Tuesday it is in talks with TelevisaUnivision to continue providing access to the Mexican-American media company's content on YouTube TV.
TelevisaUnivision is a joint venture between Grupo Televisa TLEVISACPO.MX, Mexico's largest broadcaster, and U.S. Spanish-language broadcaster Univision.
"We have been working with TelevisaUnivision to reach an agreement that allows us to continue carrying their content on YouTube TV," Alphabet-owned GOOGL.O YouTube said on X.
According to a report from Axios on Tuesday, TelevisaUnivision has launched a new consumer ad campaign warning customers that YouTube parent Google plans to remove Univision from YouTube's core offering and move it to a Spanish-language package at an extra cost.
YouTube TV plans to remove Univision from its $83 basic bundle package on September 30 and instead will force Hispanic viewers to pay another $15 a month to access the network through a separate, additional Spanish-language content bundle, Axios reported.
YouTube and Fox FOXA.O reached an agreement late last month to keep Fox News, Fox Sports and other Fox channels available to YouTube TV subscribers.
