Doe & Emuss names Watmough underwriter, director of broking

Aug 20 - (The Insurer) - Specialist underwriting agency Doe & Emuss (D&E) has appointed John Watmough as underwriter and director of broking.

Watmough, a professional liability expert with more than two decades of experience in the London insurance market, will bolster D&E’s broking and underwriting capabilities and strengthen its offering to clients, the company said in a statement on Wednesday.

The hire comes as D&E, launched late last year by former Alesco executives David Doe and Paul Emuss, seeks to expand its footprint in professional liability.

The boutique underwriting manager holds coverholder status at Lloyd’s, with Doe serving as chief executive officer and Emuss as managing director.
